【摘要】:1.1Thisguideoffersaseriesofoptionsbutdoesnotspecifyacourseofaction.Itshouldnotbeusedasthesolecriterionorbasisofcomparisonanddoesnotreplaceorrelieveprofessionaljudgment.1.2Thisguidecoversmethodsthatdisplay,asmappedinformation,thechemicalconstituentsofground-watersamples.Detailsrequiredbytheinvestigatortousefullythemethodsarefoundinthelistedreferences.1.2.1Theuseofmapstodisplaywater-qualitydataareacommontechniquetoassistintheinterpretationofthechemistryofwaterinaquifers,astheareallydistributedvaluescanbeeasilyrelatedtothephysicallocalitybytheinvestigator.1.2.2Thedistributioninanaquiferofchemicalconstituentsfromtwowatersourcesorofliquidsofdifferentdensitiesmaybedifficulttoillustrateexplicitlyonatwo-dimensionalmapbecauseofstratificationinthethirddimension.Also,theadditionofaverticalcrosssectionmayberequired(see).1.3Manygraphictechniqueshavebeendevelopedbyinvestigatorstoassistinsummarizingandinterpretingrelateddatasets.Thisguideisthefourthdocumenttoinformthehydrologistsandgeochemistsabouttraditionalmethodsfordisplayingground-waterchemicaldata.1.3.1Theinitialguide(GuideD5738)describedthecategoryofwater-analysisdiagramsthatusepatternandpictorialmethodsasabasisfordisplayingeachoftheindividualchemicalcomponentsdeterminedfromtheanalysisofasinglesampleofnaturalgroundwater.1.3.2Thesecondguide(GuideD5754)describedthecategoryofwater-analysisdiagramsthatusetwo-dimensionaltrilineargraphstodisplay,onasinglediagram,thecommonchemicalcomponentsfromtwoormoreanalysesofnaturalgroundwater.1.3.3Thethirdguide(GuideD5877)presentedmethodsthatgraphicallydisplaychemicalanalysesofmultipleground-watersamples,discretevalues,aswellasthosereducedtocomprehensivesummariesorparameters.1.4Notationshavebeenincorporatedwithintheillustrationsofthisguidetoassisttheuserinunderstandinghowthemapsareconstructed.Thesenotationswouldnotberequiredonamapdesignedforinclusioninaprojectdocument.Note18212;UseoftradenamesinthisguideisforidentificationpurposesonlyanddoesnotconstituteendorsementbyASTM.1.5Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject'smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
