【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoverschlorinatedpoly(vinylchloride)(CPVC)pipemadeinSchedule40and80sizesandpressure-ratedforwater(seeappendix).IncludedarecriteriaforclassifyingCPVCplasticpipematerialsandCPVCplasticpipe,asystemofnomenclatureforCPVCplasticpipe,andrequirementsandtestmethodsformaterials,workmanship,dimensions,sustainedpressure,burstpressure,flattening,andextrusionquality.Methodsofmarkingarealsogiven.Note1-TheCPVCpipecoveredbythisspecificationwascoveredpreviouslyinSpecificationD1785.Note2-Thesustainedandburstpressuretestrequirements,andthepressureratingsintheappendix,arecalculatedfromstressvaluesobtainedfromtestsmadeonpipe2in.[50mm]andsmaller.However,testsonlargerpipehaveshownthesestressvaluestobevalid.Theproductscoveredbythisspecificationareintendedforusewiththedistributionofpressurizedliquidsonly,whicharechemicallycompatiblewiththepipingmaterials.Duetoinherenthazardsassociatedwithtestingcomponentsandsystemswithcompressedairorothercompressedgasessomemanufacturersdonotallowpneumatictestingoftheirproducts.Consultwithspecificproduct/componentmanufacturersfortheirspecifictestingprocedurespriortopneumatictesting.Note3-Pressurized(compressed)airorothercompressedgasescontainlargeamountsofstoredenergywhichpresentserioussafteyhazardsshouldasystemfailforanyreason.Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthespecification.Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section8,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.AspecificprecautionarystatementisgiveninNote6.
